Please note: Although we had said that we were returning to Summer hours, due to the continuing inclement weather forecast to continue through all of April, we will continue Winter hours closing 4pm. closed Mondays unless a Bank Holiday. For the Tearoom: Opening hours will be as for the Nursery, last orders 3.15 pm The Nursery Opening hours will as for the Tearoom. With an appalling period of weather since Christmas, we are starting to get ready for Spring and repair the damage the Winter has done. The pergola was torn apart by winds and is being rebuilt, but, we will keep its topsy- turvy look. New plant stock has started arriving and the work of potting and dressing thousands of plants is underway. Many more plants will be arriving over the next few weeks. We have our fingers crossed that better weather will prevail, but these days, not even a weather forecast for the day ahead can be relied upon. Have a look at our lovely virtual tour of the Nursery and Tearoom. You can either visit the Tour page in the page menu or click this link Please note we have new car park gate arrangements to accommodate the long planned refurbishment work to the adjoining cottages, and next year to the Tearoom. Please understand that if you drive in when we are closed, you will have to reverse back from that gate. We have put up signs at the front showing opening hours We have lots of exciting improvements under planning this year for the Tearoom and Nursery, while keeping our essential gentle air of dilapidation. It takes a lot of work to keep it that way :) Watch out for more news of this. Building work If you have visited in the past few months you will have seen work being carried out to fully renovate the adjoining cottages to keep their historic appearance and prepare them for sale. We intend to keep that work from intruding into the Nursery atmosphere, but there will be times when disruption cannot be avoided, especially when work extends to the parts facing the Nursery much later in the year. Please bear with us. |
These are a few pictures of our Nursery and the types of plants we sell. After much restoration work we managed to open our revamped shrubbery late 2019. The pathways are now starting to settle in and look established. We have continued work to restore the Nursery
The small pond by the bird feeders has been revived to show the lovely large ironstone boulders that were set around it. As always, the numerous birds to the feeders provide many customers an entrancing time watching them while having tea and cakes. |
So that we can process and grow on a greater level of plant stock, during 2023 our focus continues to be completing the huge task of re-establishing and increasing the greenhouse, tunnels and other areas and facilities used to prepare and nurture plants prior to sale. When we started this July 2018, we expected it to be a 3 year project. |The 2 years of Covid, has made this take somewhat longer. We are continually building up the Nursery stock and display features to ensure our customers enjoy the special magic of Little Heath Farm Nursery.
